DR. BAYERO AGABI

Dr Bayero Agabi is one of Africa’s leading ICT broadcast journalists and remains the only African journalist to have won the prestigious UNECA/AISI (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa/Africa Information Society Media Awards) twice for best African ICT reporting, research and local content.  

His experience over the years has earned him a place in several committees, both within associations and on federal scale. Dr. Agabi is presently a member of the National Committee on Data Harmonization, member National Broadband Council and member Senate Cyber Security Expert Advisory Group; to mention a few.

Dr. Agabi is the vice president Nigeria Internet Group as well as president, Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development CECAD.

A pan African advocate for digital economy with well over 100 local and international awards to his credit, Dr Agabi pioneered technology broadcasting on television in Nigeria over two decades ago. He remains the only African to have won the prestigious UNECA/AISI award for ICT reporting and analysis on the continent.

An alumnus of Pan Atlantic University (PAU), University of Jos (UNIJOS), Lagos State University (LASU) and Commonwealth University Dubai, Dr. Agabi has transverse the world reporting and speaking on ICT and technology issues as it relates to Africa’s development.

Agabi is well read with degrees in Mass Communication (UNIJOS), a diploma in computer science UNILAG, Post Graduate Diploma in Public Admin, MPA LASU and Doctoral in Public Policy from the Commonwealth University Dubai. He also has a Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, with certifications in Business and Enterprise Management, Telecoms & Computer Science.
